Del Castillo began as a Latin music style project between two brothers, Rick and Mark del Castillo. Growing up, the brothers had played electric guitar in several rock bands, and in the fall of 2000 began collaborating on nylon string, acoustic guitars. Rick and Mark wanted to create music that their family could enjoy and connect to culturally. Before long, Del Castillo was playing all over the Austin area, drawing attention for their “new old school” sound. Their speed, accuracy, and energy, backed by a strong rhythm section, draws their fans to the foot of the stage of every performance.

Latin influences run throughout Lisa Morales’ music nod to Morales’ childhood in Tucson, Arizona, where she grew up surrounded by traditional Mexican music. Music ran in her family. Her cousin, Linda Ronstadt, is a pop legend in her own right, and Morales continues to carry the torch for her family and heritage as a solo artist, Lisa Morales continues to blur the boundaries between genre and culture. Morales’ songwriting talents live in both English and Spanish and bring to the forefront her powerful vocals and her belief in the power of women.
