Doors and bar — 7:00 PM
West Texas Exiles — 7:30 PM
Damn Quails — 8:30 PM
The Damn Quails began as a weekly show in 2010 at The Deli in Norman, Oklahoma and have gone on to become a mainstay in the Americana and Red Dirt music scenes. After the release and success of their first single “Fool’s Gold” off of 2011’s Down the Hatch, songwriter Bryon White and company hit the road to tour. Three studio albums, a live album, 13 years, and millions of miles later, the Quails are still making the rounds and putting smiles on faces across the states. Long time Quails bassist Caleb Shirtum and Bryon White join an always rotating roster of great musicians that lend their talents to White’s unique style of Okie songwriting; a show you will never see twice and will always remember. The Damn Quails have supported acts such as Marshall Tucker Band, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Turnpike Troubadors, The Great Divide, and many more great artists!
There’s Texas, and then there’s West Texas. You can leave it behind, but you can’t let it go. Nobody knows that better than the West Texas Exiles. With influences from The Flatlanders and Buddy Holly to Vampire Weekend and Jason Isbell, they are reinvigorating the music scene with a modern interpretation of the lone star vernacular. They’ve quickly grown from their inception a couple of years ago, playing SXSW, AmericanaFest and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest and garnering national radio play. Rhythmic and lyrically honest, the West Texas Exiles’ style truly evokes the ghosts of southwest Americana.
