Come celebrate local talent with our newest FREE entertainment series, Songwriter TX. Several awesome musicians will take the Arcadia Live stage for one great evening of live music hosted by Brent Ryan. Doors at 6pm.

Singer-songwriters, Darden Smith and Walt Wilkins, will share the Arcadia Stage for a Song Swap on June 26th! Smith is known for his lyricism and contemporary take on Americana/Folk. Wilkins is a returning artist to the Arcadia who wowed the crowd at his Red River Song Swap last fall.

“Songwriter, singer, traveler, troubadour – the calling I answered, the life I chose, the way I make my way.

I chose to go full time on this road 25 years ago. It’s been a spiritual quest, an amazing trip, at turns heartbreaking & transcendent. In that time I’ve made 9 solo records, 4 records with The Mighty Mystiqueros, 1 with my wife Tina, and there’s a new live record with my friend Kevin Welch. I’ve had 100 or more songs recorded by other artists, traveled a fair part of the world, and had some very, very large times. I have these anchors: Wednesdays with my brothers The Mystiqueros at The Saxon Pub in Austin, the 1st Sunday of every month at Luckenbach, The Red River Songwriters Festival on the last weekend of January in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and Waltstock & Barrel, a Texas wine, beer & music festival near Fredericksburg on the 1st weekend of April. Grammy Award-winning band, Reckless Kelly, will take the Arcadia Live stage for their first ever appearance in Kerrville on Saturday, July 3rd! For nearly 25 years, Reckless Kelly has graced the musical landscape with a high-powered form of Americana, equally rooted in raw passion, refined musicianship, and gritty authenticity.

About the band:

Understanding the virtuosity of Reckless Kelly requires the perspective of where the band has been. Cody and Willy Braun grew up in the White Cloud Mountains of Idaho. They moved to Bend, Oregon, and then migrated to that great musical fountainhead, Austin, Texas.

The band’s co-founders and frontmen toured the country as part of their father’s band, Muzzie Braun and the Boys, as children. They performed on The Tonight Show twice. Their father taught his four sons a professional ethic – integrity, persistence, hard work and professionalism – honed over three generations. They overcame hardships, struggled for recognition, and learned the lessons of the trial and error that defined them.

In one sense, it’s remarkable in the way of any musician, athlete, or businessperson who bucks the odds. In another, though, it’s utterly natural that Reckless Kelly, born in the dreams of the two Braun brothers and their heritage but nurtured in the bumpy road of maturity, became the very essence of Americana music in all its far-flung glory.

“We came along in that second wave of the movement,” Cody Braun says. “Son Volt’s album Trace had a major effect on us. People like Joe Ely, Ray Kennedy and Robert Earl Keen were always big supporters. Our goal was to make music that had a country vibe but a solid rock edge.”

This is a FREE, general admission event. Tickets are not required to attend, however the following rules will be enforced during the event:

1) No outside alcohol or glass containers.
2) No pets allowed.
3) No firearms allowed.
3) Ice chests and coolers are allowed, but will be searched.
4) Lawn chairs are encouraged! We will not provide seating.
5) No tents, large umbrellas, or canopies.
6) Have fun and be kind to your neighbors!

Masks are welcome, but not required.

Last year the party went on virtually. We hope you’ll be able to join us in person this year!

At age 16, Greg Morton got first job at a local department store, as a P.A. announcer. That same voice that grabbed the attention of shoppers, recently wowed judges, on the season 14 premier of America’s Got Talent. Howie Mandel said, “I can’t believe there isn’t a banner with your name on it in Vegas,” and called him a one-man variety show!

After 35 years of entertaining audiences worldwide, opening for Celine Dion, Harry Connick Jr. and Luther Vandross at Radio City Music Hall – appearing on Just for Laughs, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Comic’s Unleashed, and his own Dry Bar Comedy Special, he’s here to perform for you tonight.
