“Before there was Americana, before there was Texas Country, Two Tons of Steel front man Kevin Geil and his original band, “Dead Crickets,” rocked a sound that blended the best of musical worlds and pushed the envelope of “Texas” sound with a signature brand of high-energy country meets raw punk.
The San Antonio-based group packed the small bars and local hangouts and quickly became the Alamo City’s most-loved band, earning them a spot on the cover of Billboard Magazine in 1996. It was the beginning of a twenty year journey for Geil and the 4-piece ensemble.” (https://www.twotons.com)
Montopolis takes inspiration from the natural splendor of Big Bend National Park and its surrounding regions in West Texas and brings that magic to the stage with live music, photos, and stories.

“Montopolis turns west Texas tales into song in this concert inspired by Big Bend National Park. The performance weaves history, poetry and personal stories into music inspired by the land and the people that have walked upon it. Actor Jared Austin narrates the journey accompanied by music and breathtaking photography that captures the epic grandeur of the vast high desert wilderness.
The Big Bend performance features the renowned photography of Christopher Zebo.” (https://montopolismusic.com/bigbend)
Jade Bird is a powerhouse vocalist & guitarist with a charming grit about her. Alt-rock, folk, indie. A recent transplant from the UK to Austin, Texas- Catch her while she’s in Kerrville!
“Different Kinds of Light was properly born in a rental in upstate New York in January. (When Jade finished her day’s writing in the shed and walked back to the house, there were often bear tracks in the snow.) Some came from the song-a-day project that she undertook during lockdown, which she spent with her boyfriend, her mum and grandma at home near Gatwick. In Mexico, she pushed herself to write more and found her British influences — the Smiths, Cocteau Twins — coming out. She used to road-test songs live; not being able to do so this year brought out a different side of her writing. One new highlight, I’m Getting Lost, “is quite a bizarre riff to jam out,” says Jade, “so it helped me evolve at the same time.”
After a session together earlier in the year that minted their studio chemistry, Jade returned to Nashville with more new material to bring to life with Dave Cobb, though she maintained an equally monastic lifestyle, moving strictly between her apartment and the studio to protect herself and her collaborators. She and Dave had clicked in an earlier session thanks to how he treated her potent yet weathered vocals. “I love anyone who can make you sound so imperfect in a great way,” she says. They let her sound find its groove, joining tough 90s alt-rock and the melodicism of Blur and Oasis at their sweetest to the taut rattle of Iggy Pop’s The Passenger. “That rock element that I’ve been missing and deeply love,” is how Jade describes it. “If I’m in the car, that’s what I put on.””(https://www.paradigmagency.com/music/artists/jade-bird/)
“Jackopierce formed in 1988 in Dallas as theater students at SMU. The duo steadily made a name for themselves, especially with two of their signature tracks, “Vineyard” and their version of the classic “Please Come to Boston.” They released ten studio albums (two for major label A&M), toured three continents, nine countries, and 45 states – amassing millions of loyal fans along the way. Over the years they have shared the stage with John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox20, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Sheryl Crow, Toad the Wet Sprocket – to name a few. After a five-year breakup, the guys reunited in 2002 to test out the waters. They were very warm and city by city, Jack & Cary got back out there to play for grateful fans that thought they would never see them again. The two now have a totally renewed creative vigor, mutual respect and deep gratitude for their fans.” (https://www.jackopierce.com)
